Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
AniTok is a platform for sharing short videos about animals. This policy explains what information we collect about you, why we collect it, and who we might share it with.
Account information
When you sign up with Google or with an email and password (via Firebase), we store your email address and sign-in method. You can also add a username, display name, bio, profile picture, and cover photo — all of these are shown publicly to other users.
Content and activity
Videos you upload, your comments, likes, and follows are shown publicly to other users. Saved videos, your block and mute lists, and muted words stay private and are never shown to anyone else. Private messages between you and another user are only visible to the people in that conversation.
Push notifications
If you allow your browser to send notifications, we store your device/browser token so we can notify you about likes, comments, and new messages. You can turn notifications off at any time from your browser settings.
Technical data
We use your IP address temporarily to prevent abuse of the platform (such as unusually repeated requests) and don't store it permanently tied to your account. If a technical error occurs in the app, error details (the page and error type) are sent to an internal error-monitoring tool, without personal information that identifies you.
How we use your information
We use your information to run the platform and show content, send the notifications you've opted into, respond to you when you contact us, and prevent abuse. Every new video and profile picture is automatically screened by AI before it's published — a purely automated check to confirm it's animal-related and free of violence or sexual content, with no human review of ordinary content.
Who we share information with
We never sell your data, and we never share it for advertising purposes. We rely on trusted infrastructure providers solely to run the service: Firebase (Google) for authentication and push notifications, Cloudflare for hosting videos and profile pictures and running the automated AI screening, and Sentry to alert us when technical errors happen. Each of these has its own privacy policy.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays as long as your account is active. If you delete a video or change your profile picture, it's removed from storage — though it may remain visible for a few hours from cached copies (CDN) before disappearing completely. Contact us if you want your account deleted entirely.
Your rights
You can view and edit your account information at any time from your own profile page, and you can request a copy of your data or its full deletion by contacting us.
Children
AniTok is not directed at anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from this age group.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We'll call out any meaningful change here.
